The Nanaimo Clippers had a slow start against the Merritt Centennials but would end up taking the game 4-3 to give the Clippers their sixth win in a row.
During the first period the Centennials would take the lead early by Josh Kagan assisted by Thomas Manty. The lead wouldn’t last long though as Josh Bourne from Steven Agriogianis and Devon Mussio would get the game tied on the powerplay.
Before the end of the first period though the Centennials would score to take the 2-1 lead to the dressing from Payton Matsui.
The Clippers would dominate the second period scoring two unanswered goals to take their first lead in the game. First Captain Ethan Scardina would score his eighth goal on the season assisted by Tyler Williams and Jack O’Brien followed by a powerplay goal from Kyler Kovich assisted by Robby Drazner.
In the final twenty minutes of regulation the Centennials would score at 7:34 to get the game tied up by Josh Kagan.
Within a minute and a half later the Clippers would retake the lead with a goal by Mike Kennedy, his first BCHL Goal, assisted by Julien Menes and Tim Washe which would be the game winning goal. Clippers beat the Centennials 4-3.
The Clippers are right back at it tomorrow afternoon against the Langley Rivermen for a 2:30 PM puck drop.
