CLIPPERS WIN 5-2 OVER SPRUCE KINGS

Parents Weekend couldn’t have gone any better for the Nanaimo Clippers, who strung together back to back wins over Coquitlam and Prince George.
Sunday’s game against the Spruce Kings ended 5-2 for Nanaimo with Vincent Millette and Parker Colley both counting a pair of goals.
The Clippers started well with Tristan Crozier scoring just over one minute in, and former Spruce King Parker Colley getting a buzzer beater right at the end of the first period.
Jarod Hovde tightened up the game in the second period, before Millette struck for a shorthanded blast from the right wing to put Nanaimo up 3-1 heading to the third.
A long range power play goal from Nick Bochen fooled Clippers starter Taz Burman to keep the Spruce Kings close, but Millette hammered home a power play goal in the final frame to provide Nanaimo some insurance.
Colley chipped in an empty netter to set up the 5-2 scoreline.
Burman made 36 saves for the victory while former Clipper Evan DeBrouwer stopped 25 shots for the Spruce Kings.
Nanaimo was productive on the power play going 2/4.
The Clippers were also 5/6 on the penalty kill.
