A great bounce back week for the Clippers featured two straight wins and got Nanaimo to the .500 mark at the quarter pole of the season.

The weekend started out with a special event for the Clippers parents on Friday night and then continued with wins over Coquitlam and Prince George on Saturday and Sunday.

There was a theme in both the games with Nanaimo getting out to a lead against both mainland clubs before being pushed in the third period.

Saturday the Clippers held on for a 4-3 win over the Express and Sunday they posted a 5-2 victory over the Spruce Kings.

New goaltender Taz Burman was key in both of the wins, the former WHLer is 2-0 to start his BCHL career with a 2.50 goals against average.

This week features a trio of divisional games with the only home contest against the Victoria Grizzlies on Wednesday at 7pm.

The season series with the Grizzlies sits at 1-1, and the Clippers enter the week four points back of Victoria in the standings.

Friday and Saturday the team travels to Powell River to play the high flying Kings.

Powell River is the number one team in the Island Division and they haven’t suffered a regulation loss at home this season.

The games this week will wrap up a busy month of October with a total of 10 games on the schedule.
