The Clippers went 0-3 on the weekend with some lapses and bad bounces snowballing into a tough weekend.

Coach Mike Vandekamp felt strongly that the team got better as weekend progressed even though the results didn’t necessarily reflect the effort.

As the week begins Nanaimo is in fourth place in the Island Division but well within striking distance of third place Alberni Valley and fourth place Victoria.

This week Coquitlam comes to Frank Crane Arena on Saturday with the Express struggling out of the gate.

They’re in second last place in the overall BCHL standings and they’ve scored just one goal in each of their last three games.

Prince George visits Nanaimo on Sunday with the return of 2016-17 starting goaltender Evan DeBrouwer.

Their lead is slim, but the Spruce Kings enter the week in first place in the Mainland Division.

PG has been hot to start the season but the Clippers may catch a tired team that will already have traveled to Powell River and Alberni Valley.

Clipper families will be recognized at the Coquitlam and Prince George games for Parents Weekend.

The parents will also be having a special event on Friday night as well.

Nanaimo’s only other home game in October will be on Wednesday October 25 against the Grizzlies.
