Clippers to dawn Pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Nanaimo Clippers have announced for the entire month of October they will be wearing Pink Jerseys for home games in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Breast Cancer has emotionally touched almost everyone in some way.” commented Darren Naylor Clippers Head Coach “As a club we are honoured to be able to show our support and help raise awareness.”

It is estimated that every year over 26,000 women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer and 5,000 will die each year from it.

Along with the jerseys each home game the Clippers will have someone who has or is battling Breast Cancer drop the ceremonial puck drop according to Clippers director of business operations Tali Campbell “This is more than just wearing jerseys, this is us reaching out to those affected and bringing them in to show our love. This is an awful disease that we want to help end!”

The Nanaimo Clippers will put the Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Jerseys online for auction with all net proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
