CLIPPERS LOSE SPECIAL TEAMS BATTLE 3-2 TO VICTORIA

NANAIMO – On a night when every goal was scored on special teams the Clippers lost 3-2 to the Victoria Grizzlies.

Tristan Crozier gave Nanaimo the early lead on a man advantage but Jamie Rome answered soon after to send the game to the intermission at 1-1.

The only goal of the second period was a shorthanded effort by Victoria’s Justin Michaelian.

The third period followed the same script as the first with the teams exchanging power play goals.

Crozier got his second of the game before Ethan Nother notched the winner with just over five minutes left.

Nanaimo’s Noah Featherstonhaugh Gowe made 27 saves in the game while his counterpart Zachary Rose stopped 31 of 33 shots.

The Clippers had two goals in their eight power chances while the Grizzlies went two for six on the man advantage.
The season series is tied at 1-1 with the next game coming in just over two weeks on October 25 at Frank Crane Arena.
