Clippers lose 2-1 to Capitals in goaltenders battle

Without the stellar play of both Jordan Naylor of the Nanaimo Clippers and Zach Borgiel of the Cowichan Capitals the game would have ended in a lot higher score as a total of 80 shots were taken.

The Clippers would draw first blood at 9:42 of the first period with a shot that snuck past Borgiel to give Kyler Kovich his 14th goal on the season assisted by Devon Mussio.

At 10:59 of the second period a bad turnover by the Clippers would result in a tying goal by Tanner Sidaway unassisted. Not long after the Capitals would score again by Olivier Gauthier which would end up being the game winner as no other goals were scored.

Jordan Naylor stopped 36 of 38 shots he faced while Zach Borgiel stopped 41 of the 42 shots he faced.

Up next the Nanaimo Clippers host the Wenatchee Wild Sunday at 2:00PM.
