The Clippers travel across the Hump today to play their first exhibition game against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. They hope to rebound from a loss last Saturday to the Victoria Grizzlies. The Bulldogs lost 7-1 last night at home to the same Grizzlies.
The Clippers stand with four points in four games (2-2-0), while the Bulldogs have four points in five games (2-3-0).
Leading the Clippers in scoring so far in exhibition is Sean Donaldson with 5 points. He’s tied with Tim Washe in goals with 2, and with Kyler Kovich and Trevor LeDonne in assists with 3. Jordan Naylor will get the start in net, posting a 2.65 GAA and a 0.930 save percentage.
Coach Darren Naylor commented: “After playing 6 straight against Victoria it will be nice to face a new opponent. We will be expecting to build on our overall team game and play within our systems. It’s important to get a fast start and be physical early.”
“They played last night and will be game ready, so we will need to be prepared. There will be a couple minor line up changes as we continue to look for combinations/chemistry.”
Game time is 7 p.m. and can be watched on www.HockeyTV.com or you can listen to the Bulldogs audio broadcast at The Peak 93.3.
