Clippers beat Bulldogs, take sole possession of first place

The Clippers dusted off from Wednesday and came on hard in tonight’s game beating the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 3-1 in front of home fans and taking sole possession of first place in the Island Division.

Tim Washe would kick things off early in the first period scoring on Glassford. The goal was assisted by Travis Walton and Aiden Hansen-Bukata, that would be the lone goal in the period.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs would tie things up in the second period by an awkward bounce of the glass that hit Jordan Naylor and went in. The goal was credited to Jackson Doucet.

In the third period the Clippers would score at 7:04 by Travis Walton assisted by Josh Bourne and Trevor LeDonne to take the lead, 2-1. Within a minute the Clippers would add an insurance goal by Tim Washe which would end the game 3-1.

With a Cowichan Valley Capitals loss tonight it puts the Clippers in sole possession of first place in the Island Division. Up next the Clippers host the Powell River Kings on Sunday afternoon.
