Free admission to Veterans & Armed Forces on Nov. 9th. Team to unveil Canadian Forces Inspired Jerseys for Auction & Join Legion Poppy Campaign.
The Nanaimo Clippers, in partnership with Security & Cellular Plus as presenting sponsor, will honour local military members & veterans at Military Appreciation Night on Friday, November 9th during the Clippers vs. Alberni Valley Bulldogs game at Frank Crane Arena at 7:00 pm. To show support for the armed forces, and Remembrance Day the Team will be providing FREE ADMISSION to all active duty, veterans and retired Canadian Armed Forces personnel who attend the game in uniform. Veterans/Ex-Canadian Forces members can show their DND Record of Service card for free entry.
Gameday activities include the display of WWII military vehicles, including a Canadian Forces Scout Car, Colour Guard, performances by Pacific Gale military band, along with special recognition during the 1st intermission to be given to Veteran, Victor Osborne, born on Nov 11th, 1918. Victor will turn 100 on Remembrance Day.
The Clippers will also unveil SPECIAL EDITION Clippers Canadian Forces inspired Camouflaged Jerseys during the game. Fans will have the exciting opportunity to bid for the game-worn (and autographed) Jersey’s via ONLINE AUCTION from November 1st to November 15th with net proceeds to stay in the local community benefitting the Tom Harris Fund for Families through the Nanaimo Foundation.
