The Nanaimo Clippers are proud to announce the commitment of rising star defenseman, Ben Costantino, for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Standing at 6’3” and weighing in at over 200 pounds, Head Coach and General Manager, Colin Birkas, has high praise for the future Clippers, “Ben is a big, strong player that has a heavy shot and sees the ice well. He’s had some very good showings that have impressed Coach Beatty and our Head Scout, Josh Burgmann.”

Ben is also currently affiliated with the AJHL Camrose Kodiaks. “I’ve played a couple of games in the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) as an AP and I think that will help me adjust to playing in the BCHL.” Ben also credited his current coaches with what he hopes will be a smooth transition to the BCHL, stating “my coaches have shown me what it takes to play at the next level, how to get there, and how to stay there.”

Ben has recorded 11 goals, 16 assists, totalling 27 points through 31 regular season games and has since added 1 goal in 2 playoff games.
