Nanaimo 1 vs Penticton 6 – February 5 Game Summary

A showdown of the top two teams in the BCHL just got away from the Nanaimo Clippers.

The Penticton Vees took a 6-1 decision at Frank Crane Arena on Friday.

Penticton got up 2-0 on goals by Tyson Jost and Luke Voltin, but before the first period was done Sheldon Rempal ripped a shot behind Anthony Brodeur from the left circle on a power play.

In the second period Tyson Jost scored twice to put the Vees up 4-1.

The potential first round NHL pick rifled a shot stick side past Evan Johnson and then scored from in close on a power play.

Early in the third Dixon Bowen scored from the blue line, and Nicholas Jones capped off the scoring on a Vees power play.

Penticton outshot Nanaimo 35-23 with the Vees going 2/3 on the power play and the Clippers going 1/4.

The Clippers will now prepare for games next week at home against Cowichan Valley on Wednesday, and in Alberni Valley on Thursday.
