LONG NOVEMBER ENDS FOR THE CLIPPERS WITH A 2-1 OT LOSS

NANAIMO — November saw one win, seven losses, three overtime games, and way too much frustration for the Nanaimo Clippers.

On the final day of the month the Clippers lost 2-1 in overtime to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Evan DeBrouwer and Alberni goalie Brody Claeys kept the game scoreless in the first period but Nanaimo went up 1-0 in the second on a deflection goal by Jake Harris.

Jordan Sandhu evened it up in the third, setting the stage for Mackenzie Wight to win the game 37 seconds into overtime.

Wednesday was the second straight overtime game between the two clubs with the Bulldogs taking both.

That drops Nanaimo’s record to 1-1-0-2 in the season series.

The Clippers outshot the Dogs 28-25 and both teams were perfect on the PK.

Nanaimo was 0/4 and Alberni Valley went 0/2.

A nine game December schedule starts Friday with a home game versus Cowichan Valley.
