FORMER CLIPPER SHELDON REMPAL SIGNS WITH THE LA KINGS

The LA Kings have signed unrestricted free-agent forward Sheldon Rempal to a two-year entry-level contract, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced March 30, 2017.

The 22-year-old Rempal (born Aug. 7, 1995) is a 5-10, 154-pound native of Calgary, Alberta who appeared in 39 games this past season with Clarkson University (ECAC), posting 46 points (23-23=46), a plus-19 rating and 34 penalty minutes.

He ranked tied for ninth in the nation in goals, tied for 12th in points and tied for second in game-winning goals (5).

Rempal, a sophomore, recently completed his Golden Knights career by leading Clarkson to the NCAA tournament before falling to Providence in the East Regional Semi-Final 1-0 in overtime.

Rempal led all Golden Knights players in goals and points, and ranked tied for second in assists during his sophomore campaign. He finished with 69 points (34-35=69) in 78 career games over two seasons with Clarkson.

Sheldon was a member of the Nanaimo Clippers from 2013 to 2016. He had a total of 129 goals and 123 assist for a total of 252 points in 167 regular season and 42 playoff games. Sheldon finished the 2016 season with 59 goals and 51 assists.
