CLIPPERS POINT STREAK ENDS WITH 2-1 LOSS TO PENTICTON

The point streak is over at 12 games as the Clippers lost 2-1 to the Penticton Vees on Friday night.
It was a tight checking defensive battle, the kind you’d expect from two of the best teams in the BCHL.
Nanaimo opened the scoring with a power play goal from the slot by Brady Lynn, and in the final minute of the first the Vees tied it on a similar play by Owen Sillinger.
The only other goal was scored in the second period when Grant Cruikshank knocked a puck out of mid air behind Taz Burman.
Burman’s work was excellent as he stopped 32 of 34 shots, while the Vees Adam Scheel was great too with 22 saves.
On special teams Nanaimo went 1/6 on the power play while Penticton finished 1/5.
Friday’s Three Stars
1) Grant Cruikshank 1g
2) Taz Burman 32 saves
3) Jackson Keane 1a
Next up for the Clippers is a home game on Sunday against the Langley Rivermen at 2pm.
