CLIPPERS NEW TRAINER

TRAVIS ALLEN ANNOUNCED AS NEW TRAINER.

NANAIMO, BC- The Nanaimo Clippers have announced that Travis Allen as joined the team as trainer and equipment manager. Allen first joined the team December 16th on a temporary basis.

Allen, of Spokane, Washington, has over nine seasons of experience in junior and collegiate hockey as a player, game day staff member and front office member. Most recently Allen spent more than two seasons as an assistant equipment manager in the Western Hockey League as part of the Spokane Chiefs organization, the same franchise with which assistant coach Dustin Donaghy won the 2008 Memorial Cup.

Allen has also been an integral part of the recent success of Eastern Washington University’s hockey clubs, serving as the Director of Hockey Operations, overseeing three programs on campus, two men’s teams in the BCIHL and ACHA, as well as a women’s program.

Allen replaces Rhett White, who stepped away from the team in December after accepting a position with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League.

Along with his duties as trainer and equipment manager, Allen will also serve as an intern to head coach and general manager, Mike Vandekamp. Allen said of his new position with the team “I’m thrilled to be able to join such a historical junior hockey program and further my knowledge of the sport under the direction of head coach and general manager, Mike Vandekamp.”
