Ty patrolled the blue line for the Nelson Leafs of the K1JHL and helped his team win the
Kootenay Division of the KIJHL and competing in the BC Junior B Cyclone Taylor Cup.
Before that Ty played for the North Island Silvertips of the Major Midget League
and was an AP with the Clippers that year.
Ty is a skilled, gifted player with ability to generate offense from the back end. Ty
must be willing to compete each shift and raise his consistency at the junior A level
to become a dependable player on both sides of the puck. He has the ability to join
the rush and engage his offensive instincts. Adapting to the quicker players and in
zone assignments will ultimately determine Ty's gamesmanship as a Clipper.
Coach Bestwick, "Ty has above average instincts and shill-his success will come
down to his physical play and decision making, we think he could be a dark horse in that regard."
